Following a severe storm event in the Yarra Valley region on Wednesday 9th June, Ausnet Services overhead distribution network was majorly damaged, with over 220,000 customers left without power, and over 150 homes destroyed.
Ultegra received a call from Essential Energy’s General Manager Network Services, on Sunday 13th June, asking for crews to assist with the restoration effort.
Despite being the middle of a long weekend, Ultegra proudly mobilised 31 tradespersons by Monday afternoon to Lilydale, VIC.
Over the course of 16 days, Ultegra crews attended over 1,000 customer reported faults, reinstated over 700 overhead service mains, restored supply to 8,000 customers, and reconstructed 12kms of HV and LV distribution mains.
Ultegra crews carried out a range of construction projects in adverse conditions both independently, and in conjunction with authority representatives from Ausnet Services, Endeavour Energy, Ausgrid, Downer and Jemena.
